About this property
Hotel Indigo® Savannah Historic District is the perfect destination for your Savannah experience, steps from City Market, Forsyth Park, Ellis Square, River Street and more than 150 restaurants and bars. Like our Spanish-moss-draped city herself, our hotel is the perfect mix of old and new featuring a historic building with authentic suites along with modern rooms, gathering spaces and amenities that every visitor will love. Known to locals as the Grand Lady on the Bay, our building was once 19th-century mega-merchant Simon Guckenheimer's dry goods storage house, which was filled with everything the South made best, from tobacco to canned peaches. The 1940's and '50s brought a grocery store with the city's first true coffeehouse. Now, the Grand Lady stands as a charming boutique hotel with modern style in the vibrant Ellis Square that reflects the essence of Savannah's renowned Historic District. Guests enjoy our acclaimed location in the heart of it all, along with true Southern hospitality. After a delicious breakfast or cocktail at our lobby bar, immerse yourself in our neighborhood's rich culture at City Market, located next door. Then embark on one of the tours Savannah has to offer with several iconic squares located steps from our door. Make your way down cobblestone paths to famous River Street, where you can watch ships enter and exit the harbor while savoring Southern comfort food.
